The opportunity
How can the brand guidelines and Life Lessons school products be iterated to meet accessibility standards, whilst prioritizing a flexible and clear user experience for the Life Lessons Product team to continue creation lessons?
Approach
Brand guidelines accessibility audit revealed the following
Colour contrast ratio combinations to be adapted to AA or AAA
Brand Typeface DM Sans glyphs didn’t meet accessibility legibility
Standard minimum type size and line height hadn’t been set

Designing for 3 user group journeys: content creators, teachers and pupils
For content creators, ease of using guidelines, templates and resources
For teachers, ease of using and referencing resource teaching materials
For pupils, ease of understanding and interacting with content
Testing
Each product went through rounds of testing with the product team creators, understanding pain points and areas of improvement to increase usability when creating lessons
Primary school product had iterative feedback from teachers, providing areas of improvement within the resources section
Solution
Product deliverables to support experience for all 3 user groups: Google slide presentations for teachers, 3 Google slide lesson template masters created and tested with course concert, and lesson handouts for pupils
Lesson handouts designed with sustainability in mind, designed in black and white with minimum page count
Positive feedback from teachers using the new course content material templates
Positive feedback from the content creators using the template and guidelines
Accessibility guidelines for the Life Lesson content team with easy to follow application
