The opportunity

Habitus Insight founders required a visual identity to take their business concept out to market. How can a visual identity narrate the brand purpose:

Habitus Insight operates internationally, delivering in-depth research, reporting, award-winning films, and strategic communications that drive real impact. Our work spans global development, regenerative futures, and tech for positive impact.

Research and findings

  • Competitor and non competitor research

  • Art history referencing

  • Stakeholder interviews

  • Colour theory research

“In sociology, habitus (/ˈhæbɪtəs/) is the way that people perceive and respond to the social world they inhabit, by way of their personal habits, skills, and disposition of character.”

Approach

The identity is inspired by the rich visual context of storytelling told through the lens of a camera. Working with the purpose and meaning behind the why of the brand with the founders of Habitus Insight, we focussed on 2 key elements - the camera and the story told through film. The separation of habit and us through the lens, was inspired by the sociological definition of the brand name, simply breaking into the habit(s) of us, the wider intrinsic connection of people. The colour palette reflects nature's connection to humanity.

“We worked with Lauren to create a logo that reflects both the global nature of Habitus Insight’s work and its deep connection to visual storytelling. The bokeh effect links directly to our core focus, and the result is a clean, crisp logo that reveals layers of richness upon closer inspection.”

Solution

Since launching in 2016, Habitus Insight has collaborated with global research partners Caribou Digital, The Mastercard Foundation, ServiceNow & The Socioscope, delving into some of the world's niche challenges.

“We’ve been fortunate to collaborate with a range of partners—from large tech companies to brands, charities, and foundations. A clean and coherent visual identity has consistently strengthened our presentations, workshops, and other key moments where Lauren’s work helps us stand out. As we continue to evolve, we look forward to working with Lauren to keep our branding sharp and impactful.”
